Let’s change gears! Enough friends, students, colleagues, and nonprofits have asked for recommendations, advice, and stories of the questionable brilliant things I’ve done over the years that I’ve (finally) decided to collect all those listicles and letters into a single repository.
Itineraries sound like work, instead here you’ll find curated lists of things you might want to check out. I’m typically already traveling for work – probably presenting at a conference – I don’t need more work. I want a cafe or bookstore for some downtime between sessions, a great place for a meal, and maybe a half-day excursion…so that’s what you’ll find on the listicles: a menu of options.
Stories though…stories are a different animal. I want fun facts, I want fascinating history, I want cultural appreciation, I want to smell the lilacs in the retelling, I want to hear the pitter patter of rain on slate roof, I want to feel the blistering heat of a peat fire, I want to relive the experience in the retelling. Over here, I’m trading my technical writing for that of the immersive epistolary form.
Want to live a more international and cultured life? Want to learn how your everyday choices can be an act of change? Want to learn about that researcher life?
Enjoy travel from the comfort of your armchair, insight on responsible (international) business, academic writing, general audience writing, art, whatever I happen to be into that week, and the occasional photo of my fellow office purrrrrrfessionals.
You’ll receive these updates intermittently via email. Your email address is never sold or shared.
